RUGBY ASSOCIATION OF MAHARASHTRA – RAM
The Rugby Association of Maharashtra (RAM), recognised by the Directorate of Sports & Youth Services, Govt.
of Maharashtra and the Maharashtra Olympic Association (MOA), is a permanent member of the Indian Rugby Football
Union (IRFU) - the governing body for the sport of Rugby in India. The IRFU is recognized by the Ministry of
Youth Affairs & Sport, Govt. of India and is a member of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), Asia Rugby &
World Rugby.
The Rugby Association of Maharashtra (RAM) is responsible for the growth and development of the sport across
the state of Maharashtra - from the grassroots level to the high-performance level. Currently, 28 Districts
Rugby
Associations are registered with RAM and are actively playing / promoting Rugby (for Men, Women and age-grade
Boys
& Girls). Maharashtra is one of the most celebrated States for Rugby in India and is a flag bearer for the sport
in the country.
